Patty Clark has worked at Virginia Wesleyan since 2001. Patty earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from University of California at Los Angeles and a Masters of Library and Information Science from the Catholic University of America.
Patty shares responsibility for research and instruction with Jenny Erdmann and Stephen Leist. She collaborates with faculty in developing appropriate research instruction sessions, and assists faculty with creating and revising assignments that enhance student learning and research success. She also manages electronic resources for the library.
Patty is the library liaison to the Natural Science & Mathematics division,and the Education and Recreation & Leisure Studies departments. Patty serves on the Educational Programs Commission and the President's Environmental Issues Council. She has also served on the Undergraduate Research Committee, INTEL, The Academic Effectiveness Committee and the QEP 2015 committee. Patty served as a Winter Shelter manager for three years.
In November 2013, Patty Clark participated in the Association of College and Research Libraries’ Intentional Teaching:Reflective Practice to Improve Student Learning program. This course provided the opportunity to focus intensively on personal teaching development, pedagogical inquiry and practical information literacy instruction techniques, leading to a stronger institutional library instruction program.
Patty's passions include literacy, service learning, cooking and playing with grandsons Ben and Matthew.
