Stu Minnis holds a Ph.D. in Film Studies from the University of Kansas and M.S. and B.S. degrees from Texas Christian University. He teaches video production and film & media studies at VWC, and he advises Lambda Pi Eta, the Communication Honor Society. Professionally, he produces documentary and avant-garde films and is active in the University Film and Video Association.

Homelessness at Home (2014) - a documentary short about the student-run emergency homeless shelter at Virginia Wesleyan College

Time and Zion (2012) - an avant-garde film about geologic time in the context of Zion Canyon, Utah
