Co-sponsored by the Virginia Wesleyan College Concert Series

The combined choirs of Virginia Wesleyan College and the University of Alabama-Birmingham perform works by Glenn McClure and Michael John Trotta in tribute to the great work of Methodist preachers Francis Asbury and Thomas Coke with the Virginia General Assembly to abolish slavery 78 years before Lincoln's 1863 Emancipation Proclamation, marking it's 150th anniversary in 2013. Conductors: Dr. Brian Kittredge, UAB; Dr. Michael Trotta, VWC.
