Mission opportunities are offered by the Chaplain's Office in conjunction with local ministries in the Hampton Roads area or through mission projects sponsored by the United Methodist Church. The Chaplain's Office has plenty of resources through the Norfolk district, the Virginia Conference and the General Board of Global Ministries.
Service opportunities are offered by the campus office of Community Service and The Chaplain's Office. Both offices are located next to each other in the Jane P. Batten Student Center. Diane Hotaling, director of the Office of Community Service, will assist students by helping them "connect" with the local community. If you are interested in Habitat for Humanity, the Tech Riders community-based computer learning program, tutoring in local schools with Circle K or Cooking for Kids in conjunction with the South Hampton Roads food bank, stop in and visit Diane in the Office of Community Service.
