Most people just call him "Chappy." Chaplain Bob Chapman has been Chaplain of the College since 1997. Chappy is an ordained United Methodist pastor and a member of the Virginia Conference. Chappy is a graduate of Virginia Wesleyan College, Wesley Theological Seminary and Lynchburg College.
Chappy is all over the campus sharing life with our community. You might find him on the sidewalks serving lemonade at Chappy's Cantina, hanging out with students at the Listening Post or on the court announcing Marlin basketball games. Following his college internship at Virginia Wesleyan, Chappy worked in a professional photography studio. Students are his favorite photographic subjects as seen by all of the neat black and white photographs hanging on the wall in the Chaplain's Office. Chappy enjoys tennis, backpacking on the Appalachian Trail, the Norfolk Tides (AAA farm club of the New York Mets) and hanging out at local coffee shops with students.
