Off-campus Career Events

Dale Carnegie of Eastern Virginia Annual Essay Contest
  • The purpose of this contest is to remind students of the importance of face-to-face communication in a world where technological communication is taking over.
  • Any Virginia Wesleyan Student may enter.  Essays must be 700 words or less.  The name of the essay will be:  The Importance of People Skills in Today's Business World.
  • All essays must be submitted electronically to paul_ariola@dalecarnegie.com by midnight March 31, 2010.  Essays will be graded on grammar, punctuation, and relevance.  Plagarism is cause for automatic disqualification.  Winners will be notified no later than April 30, 2010.  First prize:  Scholarship valued at $1,695 for Dale Carnegie Course (valid for one year).  Second prize:  Audio CD set of "How to Win Friends and Influence People."  Third prize:  "The Quick and Easy Way to Effective Speaking," by Dale Carnegie.
