Vehicle Reservations

The Marlin Transit Authority has a fleet of three vans (Van 6, Van 7 & Marlin Express).  These vans can be reserved throughout the school year by the Student Affairs Division and the Athletics Department members.  A faculty or staff member must make the reservation and is responsible for refueling the van after usage.

Van reservation requests must be made one week in advance by e-mailing or calling Brandon Elliott at extension 3307 or belliott@vwc.edu.  Additionally, all drivers must be on Virginia Wesleyan College’s Approved Driver’s List.  Drivers must go through Amy Dudley (adudley@vwc.edu)  in the Business Office in order to go through the approval process.  Applications come with a $15 fee and the complete Approved Driver’s List can be obtained through Amy Dudley.

Once a reservation is confirmed, keys to reserved vans should be picked up at the HUB, located in the Jane P. Batten Student Center, on the day of reservation.  Keys should be returned to the HUB immediately after returning to campus.

Due to the maintenance of the vans and safety of our students, we do not let the Marlin Transit Authority fleet go through tunnels or outside of a 30 mile radius of Virginia Wesleyan College.  Should you need vehicle usage outside of these parameters please contact Midge Zimmerman in the Business Office for information on van rentals.

The Marlin Transit Authority fleet is not available for class field trips and other college related activities.  Should you need to make a van reservation for these purposes please contact Midge Zimmerman at mzimmerman@vwc.edu in the Business Office.
