Dear VWC Class of 2021,
On behalf of the entire College community, welcome to Virginia Wesleyan! You are now officially part of #MarlinNation.
Over the next year, I will be here to address your individual transitional needs, connect you to valuable resources and opportunities, and help you to cultivate an understanding of VWC’s history and traditions. Here are several examples of activities we will be doing together, some as a class and others in smaller groups or individual meetings:
- Meeting to help you succeed in the classroom. Weekly or bi-weekly meetings covering topics such as study skills, time management, on-campus resources and the importance of constant communication with faculty.
- Finding a club, organization, or on-campus job that is compatible with your interests. Becoming part of an organization is a great way to get involved with campus life, meet people who are interested in the same things you are and grow as an individual.
- Continuing Orientation Programs. We will host a series of events that will inform, educate, and/or entertain you. Some will cover more serious issues while others will be purely social in nature.
Your success at VWC will require you to work hard and show commitment both inside and out of the classroom. You will undoubtedly face challenges along the way. But remember, we are always here to help.
Please feel free to contact me anytime at 757.455.2124 or email@example.com. I also encourage you to stop by my office, located in the Batten Center across from the Scribner Bookstore. I look forward to seeing you on campus.
Good luck and GO MARLINS!
