American Red Cross Blood Drive
11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
An American Red Cross Blood Drive will take place Wednesday, April 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the CMAC inside the Jane P. Batten Student Center. Sign up to donate blood online at; scheduled blood donors will complete the donation process in about an hour. Walk-ins are welcome as space is available. Volunteers are needed at registration and at the canteen on the day of the drive. Volunteers may sign up in the Office of Community Service for one-hour shifts during the drive. Cooking For Kids
6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Cooking For Kids, a food preparation program in partnership with the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia, takes place in VWC's campus kitchen every other Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. During the spring 2015 semester, the program will be held February 25, March 11, March 25, April 8 and April 22. For the seventh year, Virginia Wesleyan is a participating site of YWCA’s "Take a Stand Against Racism" initiative.
