Chaplain's Office and Spiritual Life
Greetings and welcome to the home page for the Chaplain's Office. As you navigate through our site you will find information about the services and spiritual life programs offered through the Chaplain's Office. Located inside the Jane P. Batten Student Center, the Chaplain's Office is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students, faculty, staff and campus visitors are invited to come by and enjoy the comfort of our community lounge. Come in and read a book, study, play a game of chess or checkers, chill out on the couch or listen to music.
The mission of the Chaplain's Office is to provide an ecumenical, inter-faith campus ministry of pastoral care, counseling, hospitality and faith-related educational initiatives to students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of Virginia Wesleyan College, regardless of their spiritual heritage or religious affiliation.
Statement of purpose
In response to the divine call, the purpose of the Chaplain's Office is to offer the integrity of a theologically-based ministry reflective of God's unconditional love, spirit, grace, affirmation and unconditional positive regard toward every person or group seeking spiritual direction.
