Feb 17: Josh Vietti Concert @ 8:00 PM

The interplay between hip hop and rock may sound like an incompatible parallel track, until you hear Josh Vietti! Upbeat, soulful and mesmerizing are three words that perfectly describe Josh Vietti. He has an unusual knack for combining sounds and rhythms from a variety of genres to make just the 'right kind of noise'! Josh has played the violin since he was four years old! At the age of 7, he received a scholarship from the Los Angeles Philharmonic, where he studied for 10 years. In 2006, he decided to make a career out of his passion for music. He started playing as a 'street performer' at local venues around Los Angeles. As a street performer Josh engages the crowd and creates his own concert hall by playing pop, jazz, hip hop, country, gospel and comes up with an improvisation that is entirely his! Through this humble 'pay if you like it' approach Josh has made the acquaintance of the entertainment elite. Josh has sold over 45,000 demo CDs from the trunk of his car. Josh has performed with the Los Angeles Ballet Academy and was featured in the 2010 NBA All-Star Game commercial narrated by the actor Common. In September 2011, Josh recorded a track for multi-Grammy award winner Cee Lo Green. In November 2011 he performed on the Ellen Degeneres show. Hear him to experience how he makes parallel tracks intersect in an exciting melody... The event sponsored by the Wesleyan Activities Council (Mainstage Committee). Location: Marlin Grille 8 p.m. For more information, contact Jasmine Rivera with Wesleyan Activities Council at .757.455-3383 or e-mail jmrivera@vwc.edu.
