FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Norfolk, Va.- Virginia Wesleyan College is offering a condensed version of its popular free, non-credit beginning computer and Internet training program, called TechRiders, on campus two days in June.

The curriculum is designed for people with no knowledge of computer applications but a desire to learn. A veteran Virginia Wesleyan student trainer covers basic computer operations, the Internet and Email, as well as the practical application of these skills. Classroom assistants answer individual questions throughout the session.

The course is offered June 13 and June 20, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Clarke Hall, Room 125 on the Virginia Wesleyan College campus.

Founded in the Spring of 2000, by past Governor Mark Warner, TechRiders, is a Virginia-based non-profit that offers all Virginians the opportunity to access and understand technology by providing free computer training to individuals throughout the state. Virginia Wesleyan College students have trained more than 300 people in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach and Hampton since Fall 2002.
