FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Va. – More than 350 guests attended Virginia Wesleyan College's annual Spring Honors Convocation, an event that celebrates students for their academic and leadership achievement, on Friday, May 1 in the Jane P. Batten Student Center.
During the event, the College announced that the third annual President's Environmental Challenge Grant will fund four projects, each receiving $625. The $2,500 grant, created by President Dr. William T. "Billy" Greer in August 2006 and administered by the President's Environmental Issues Council, is just one piece of an overall campus sustainability initiative.
Award recipients include: Assistant Director of Career Services Kate Bourdow, Odessa Knipp '10 from Virginia Beach, Va., Batten Associate Professor of History Dr. Dan Margolies, Assistant Professor of English Dr. Josh Weinstein and Batten Professor of Philosophy Dr. Steven Emmanuel.
