Alumni Ride Waves of Success

Michael Blank ’92 owns four Zpizza restaurants in Northern Virginia and Maryland. The popular restaurants focus on serving healthy ingredients and won the Franchisee of the Year award in 2006. After a stint at America Online, Michael became a founding member of webMethods, an enterprise software company, where he develops software products. He also is involved in commercial real estate and real estate investing. Michael teaches adult education classes that focus on achieving financial independence. In his community, he also serves on the board of Homestretch, an organization that helps homeless families find housing and become self-sufficient.

Mair Downing ’93 is Regional Director of Operations for Media General in Richmond, Va., where she recently served as project manager for the content management system conversion of TimesDispatch.com. In 2006, she was recognized as Newspaper Association of America Future Leader. Previously, Mair worked for Northrop Grumman as a technical writer and contractor and was a content producer for Cox Communications. She also taught English and Composition at Tidewater Community College. In 1998, Mair received her Master of Arts in Journalism from Regent University. She also serves on the board of the Richmond SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

Tracey Mustacchio ’89 is Chief Marketing Officer for TraceSecurity, a leading provider of security compliance and risk management solutions for more than 700 corporations in Baton Rouge, La. She is responsible for overseeing all of Trace-Security’s marketing and product management functions, including public relations and lead generation. Previously, Tracey worked at Secure Software, McAfee, Business Evolution and Verisign. While at McAfee, she led product marketing that saw revenue grow to more than $900 million. Tracey operated her own strategic marketing consulting firm where she specialized in providing marketing and product management consulting to high growth companies. She regularly speaks at conferences across the country about security solutions.

Marjorie Thompson ’82 is Section Chief for Worksite Enforcement Programs at Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a division of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in Washington, D. C. She helps guide their mission to reduce the risk of terrorist attacks posed by unauthorized workers employed in secure areas of our nation’s infrastructure. A two-time recipient of the U.S. Attorney’s Public Service Award, Marjorie has previously served as Senior Special Agent and National Program Manager for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She is a member of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association,Women in Federal Law Enforcement, and the Tidewater Scottish Society.
