In Memoriam
RICHARD NAGLER ’75 passed away in January at his home in Ft. Collins, Colo. A psychology major, he was a retired Virginia senior probation and parole officer and noted volunteer for the Hemophilia Association of the Capitol Area.
MARVIN “TOWNY” TOWNSEND ’77 passed away in April at his home. A social science major, he was the dean of students for Norfolk Public Schools.
VICTORIA TULK HEASLEY ’80 passed away in September 2006. She was a psychology major.
CMDR. BYRON FRAZIER “BY” HODGE ’87 passed away in January. He retired from the U.S. Navy with 28 years of service, and his career was highlighted by three tours of duty in the Pacific with many combat missions over Vietnam earning him the Distinguished Flying Cross, among other commendations.
HARVEY BROOKS HILL ’88, passed away in February after a long illness. A LAMP major, he had been employed by several companies as a sales representative. He was an enthusiastic tennis player, freshwater fisherman and amateur magician.
JACINTA HOPE “SIS” BUCHANAN ’91 passed away in April. A theatre and political science major, she was employed as an area manager for Verizon Wireless for 17 years.
DONALD W. DAVIS ’91 passed away in August, 2005, at the age of 46. A mathematics major, he was a longtime Chesapeake resident and Army veteran.
HERBERT C. FLITTON ’99, passed away in June in Hampton,Va. A LAMP major, he was an engineer with Creasy Electronics for more than 20 years before his health forced him to retire. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, in Virginia Beach, Va.
CYNTHIA LYNN BROWN GALDERISI ’00 passed away in February, 2006 at Sentara Leigh Hospital. A LAMP major, she had worked for the Virginia Beach Police Department as a public safety analyst.
