Now entering its fifth year, the Virginia Wesleyan College Alumni Association has grown to include 260 members and continues to add more every day!
The Alumni Association plays an important role in supporting Virginia Wesleyan and strengthening its alumni base with social activities and charitable giving. And, in addition to the opportunity to stay involved with their alma mater, members enjoy a number of exciting benefits.
The newest benefit available to members is the University Travel Benefits program, through which members can spend a week at any one of a number of resorts across the country for just $349. With thousands of places to stay, the program offers an affordable vacation at virtually anywhere in the U.S., and all members of the Association are eligible.
Alumni Association members also receive discounts at a number of hotel and car rental chains across the country.
Other benefits that Alumni Association members enjoy include Batten Center membership eligibility, discounted admission to Virginia Wesleyan events like the Garden Party, invitations to members-only events and receptions and a new Virginia Wesleyan parking decal for uninterrupted admission to campus.
Alumni Association members are actively involved in the life of the campus and its students through events such as the Senior Class Party, December Graduation, Commencement Rehearsal and the Baccalaureate Reception.
A major event sponsored by the Alumni Association is the annual Garden Party and Auction. This year the event raised a total of $11,900 to support the Legacy Endowed Scholarship and the Alumni Association.
The Alumni Association also helps non-members, and has recently established a student loan consolidation program. Offered through the Alumni Association, the program is run by Suntrust and is available to all Virginia Wesleyan alumni.
