Annual Fund for Academic Excellence
The Annual Fund for Academic Excellence provides more than $400,000 in annual scholarship support for students. Have you ever thought about how different a student's life would be if their time was cut short at Virginia Wesleyan? Unfortunately, some Virginia Wesleyan families are faced with this tough reality because of the economy. Now more than ever, gifts to the Annual Fund are needed to ensure our students are able to stay in school and reach their full potential. Make a secure online gift to the Annual Fund or view our Honor Roll of Donors.

Earle Mobley '82

Earle Mobley '82

Earle Mobley '82 is the Commonwealth's Attorney for Portsmouth, Va. He graduated with a B.A. in psychology and says of his time at Virginia Wesleyan, "It was quite a shock to me to have professors that actually knew and cared about me as a person. Doctors Lipscomb, Shealy, and Jones all took a special interest in my studies. It was quite different from the large University I had previously attended."

Earle received his law degree from Regent University's School of Law in 1989. He was a member of the charter class at Regent. He practiced law for twelve years, ran and was elected as the Portsmouth Commonwealth's Attorney. He was the first Republican to be elected to a constitutional office in Portsmouth since reconstruction. Earle won re-election in 2006. In a January 2009 article, The Virginian-Pilot described Earle as "a stickler for truth, justice, and fairness." Since taking office, he has formed a drug prosecution team, a DWI prosecution team and is currently focusing on gang violence in an effort to fight crime.
