The Alumni Association has just launched FishNet, a new online community where alumni can search for old friends, post alumni announcements such as marriages, births and employment updates, and view photographs - all from the convenience of their personal computers.   • Do you have spirit? The "Get the Spirit" Drive, designed to increase the viability of the College by

    placing FREE decals on 5,000 cars kicked off last September. More than 800 students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the College have signed up! Members of the Spirit Squad are featured on the College Web site. Show your VWC spirit and get your decal today!
  • Tour Virginia Wesleyan College. The Admissions Office is now offering summer tours to perspective students and parents at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. through August.
  • Calling all High School Seniors! The Admissions Office will hold four "Rising Senior Days" this summer: Wednesday, July 25; Friday, July 27; Thursday, August 9; and Tuesday, August 14. Students who bring a completed application will have the $40 application fee waived.
  • Virginia Wesleyan is hosting the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce "Business After Hours" networking event again this summer and all alumni are invited! All pre-registered alumni and their guests will be admitted FREE of charge - so register online today! The event will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 19 in the Pearce Hospitality Suite of the Jane P. Batten Student Center. It's a great opportunity to mingle with other Hampton Roads professionals.
  • Don't miss Wesleyan Wednesday at the Ocean View Pier on Wednesday, August 8 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Relax at an after-work party overlooking the scenic Chesapeake Bay and enjoy beach tunes with fellow Virginia Wesleyan alumni!   • Mark your calendar! Homecoming and Family Weekend 2007 will be held Oct. 5-7. The classes of '97 and '82 will be celebrating their 10-year and 25-year reunions, respectively. Featured Alumna: Christine Williams '96

Christine A. Williams '96 of Richmond, Va., is an attorney with DurretteBradshaw LLC, where she practices primarily in the areas of commercial and complex litigation. She received her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law. Christine was named a SuperLawyers "Rising Star," an honor reserved for the top 2.5 percent of lawyers in the Commonwealth, and she was selected by her peers to be included in Virginia’s "Legal Elite," sponsored by Virginia Business magazine and the Virginia Bar Association.
Christine is co-chair of the board for TrePadges, a charitable foundation dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in Virginia. Since 2001, they have raised over $100,000 for various organizations.
