- Virginia Wesleyan senior writes, directs one-act play: Senior theatre and English major Amanda Wolk wrote and directed The Light Within, which focuses on the relationship she shared with her brother, Adam.
- Virginia Wesleyan students compete in computer programming contest: Six students from Virginia Wesleyan College, led by Associate Professor of Computer Science Dr. Zizhong Wang, participated in the 2006 ACM Mid-Atlantic USA Computer Programming Contest, which challenges students in areas of math and coding.
- The spring semester is quickly approaching, but there is still time for students to apply for admission to Virginia Wesleyan! Whether interested in Virginia Wesleyan's day program or night and evening classes with the The Adult Studies Program, students can still apply for classes that begin Thursday, Jan. 25.
- The Alumni Association is seeking nominations for the Alumni Awards Program. Alumni can self-nominate or may be nominated by someone else for two awards: The Distinguished Alumnus Award and the Alumni Service Award. For more details and to submit your nomination online, click here. Nominations are due by March 15, 2007.
- It's hoops time! Basketball season is in full swing and you are
invited to take part in the action! Join us for a halftime reception with your alumni group:

- Attention Graduates of the Class of 2006! The Career Services Center is currently collecting information on the employment and/or graduate school status of members of the Class of 2006. Please take a few moments to update us by visiting our online survey. Simply enter your Virginia Wesleyan e-mail address prefix (jdoe@vwc.edu would enter "jdoe"). Then enter your Virginia Wesleyan password. Once you have completed the brief survey, click on SUBMIT and you're done! Thank you for your help with this project! - The Alumni Association's 2005-2006 Annual Report is now available online. The Alumni Board is proud of the past year's accomplishments, and the members look forward to continued membership growth and relationship building in the coming years. Alumni Announcements
- Michele (Asaro) Maxfield '93 and her husband, Scott, welcomed twins, 4-pound 13-ounce Madison Hope and 5-pound 15-ounce Nicholas Scott, on Sept. 1. The Maxfields reside in Huntersville, N.C.
- Gary D. Bonnewell '79 has joined the board of Guardian Foundation in UMFS, a nonprofit family services agency based in Richmond, Va. Bonnewell is currently the senior vice president at Smith Barney in Newport News, Va.
