Marriages and Births
- Michele (Asaro) Maxfield '93 and her husband, Scott, welcomed
twins, 4-pound 13-ounce Madison Hope and 5-pound 15-ounce Nicholas Scott (pictured), on Sept. 1. The Maxfields reside in Huntersville, N.C. - Mikelle (McGovern) Rappaport '97 and Eric Rappaport '96
welcomed their first child, 6-pound 14-ounce Zachary Samuel (pictured), on Oct. 26. Mikelle is a licensed nursing home administrator for Sentara and Eric is a claims manager for Geico. The Rappaports reside in Chesapeake, Va. - Kimberly Darcey '98 married Trey White on Nov. 17 at the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, Va.
- Lori (Henn) Hall '00 and her husband, David, welcomed a son, 8-
pound 11-ounce Spencer Robert (pictured), on Oct. 18. Spencer joins big sisters Avery and Abby. The Halls live in Winston-Salem, N.C.
- Robyn L. Nagy '00 and James L. Callis '01 were married on Nov. 4 in the Boyd Center at Virginia Wesleyan. Dr. Doug Kennedy officiated at the double ring ceremony. The couple resides in Chesapeake, Va. Jay is employed by The City of Norfolk Recreation Department and Robyn works for the Norfolk Community Services Board.
Personal Updates
- Constance Stafford '75 was just appointed to the Alzheimer's Board of Directors in Staten Island. She continues to work as a social worker for St. Elizabeth Ann's HC and she has two children -- one still in school and one attending Ohio Wesleyan.
- Gary D. Bonnewell '79 has joined the board of Guardian Foundation in UMFS, a nonprofit family services agency based in Richmond, Va. Bonnewell is currently the senior vice president at Smith Barney in Newport News, Va.
- Scot Wucher '89 is Network Services Manager for Norfolk Public Schools. He resides in Newport News, Va., with his wife and son, Wesley.
- Tina Tyson '93 is the chief compliance officer at the Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C. She and her husband, Paul Kumpf '90 have two children, Kristina, 5, and Brandon, eleven months. Paul works for the U.S. Customs Department.
- Andrea (Mackintosh) Lewis '95 is a real estate developer with Lewmack, Inc. in Virginia Beach, Va. Her husband, Thomas Lewis III '98, is the chief financial officer for all locations of First Team Auto in Chesapeake, Va. The couple resides in Virginia Beach.
- Kristi Kail Collins '98 is a first grade teacher at Marguerite Christian Elementary School, a public school in Colonial Heights, Va.
- Leslie (McConnell) Taber '98 is the marketing manager for Isle of Wight County. The position is part of the Economic Development department and is responsible for business development and retention strategies, research of current development trends, and oversees all marketing and public relations efforts. She resides in Virginia Beach, Va.
- Wallace R. Driskell, Jr. '00 (pictured) was promoted to the rank of
captain in the Norfolk Police Department during a ceremony held on Nov.16.
- Bobby Ellington '04 is the assistant to the city engineer in Chesapeake, Va.
- Channaile Gordon '06 is an executive manager/assistant at ALON, Inc. in Springfield, Va.
In Memoriam
- Teresa (Schmitt) Hull '77 passed away on July 2, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 50. Teresa majored in political science at Virginia Wesleyan and was a homemaker, substitute teacher, girls' soccer coach and an avid sports fan. She enjoyed gardening and puzzles. She is survived by her husband, Rick, and her three children.
