- Thanks to the 2,161 dedicated alumni, friends, parents, faculty, staff, churches, foundations and corporations, the Annual Fund for Academic Excellence had another successful year. At the conclusion of the 2005-2006 year, the Annual Fund raised $1,319,490 to support students. The students and faculty at Virginia Wesleyan College thank everyone who supported the Annual Fund for Academic Excellence and we look forward to your continued support, making 2006-2007 another fantastic year.

- Portia Pooran '06 was accepted for the Japanese Exchange Teaching (JET) Program and will be teaching at a high school in Fukui, Japan.
