What We Do
The Office of College Communications promotes the image of Virginia Wesleyan as a private, liberal arts, United Methodist related College to the Hampton Roads area and beyond. Through advertising, strategic media relations and publications, the office strives to inform the public of the College's core mission and vision. The Office also serves to ensure that the Wesleyan community (faculty, staff, students, trustees, donors, parents and friends) is well informed about its own people and events.
How We Do It
College Communications works with all offices on campus to publicize people, programs, events and achievements to the Wesleyan and Hampton Roads communities and beyond. Through a combination of public relations and paid advertising, the office promotes the core mission and visual identity of the College. The office is responsible for News and Events, Features and Events Calendar content on the Web site, the electronic sign, and all print publications including admissions material, departmental brochures, special event calendars and the College Magazine.
College Communications as a Resource
College Communications is available as a resource to Virginia Wesleyan students, faculty and staff members and the greater community. Wesleyan community members should work with College Communications in publicizing events, speaking with the media and creating publications. The greater community and media outlets should use College Communications to reach members of the campus community and to get accurate information about Wesleyan's people and programs. News releases, an events calendar and experts' guide are available online for your convenience.
