2013 Run to Remember Memorial Day 5K8 a.m.Gold and Blue Star families have teamed up with One Team One Fight for the 2013 Run to Remember Memorial Day 5K in honor of the fallen warriors of Naval Special Warfare on Saturday, May 25 on the Virginia Wesleyan College campus at 8:06:11 a.m. This race brings special meaning to Memorial Day for the local armed forces and their families, while encouraging the sense of duty to our country that our fallen warriors so nobly believed in. Race fees: $35 - 5K Cross Country Course, includes timing chip, bib, t-shirt and finisher flag (increases to $45 on May 15); $20 - Fun Run for kids 5 and under, includes bib and finisher medal; $20 - One Mile Fun Run for kids 6 and over, includes bib and finisher medal. 2013 Eggleston OK5K8 a.m.The 2013 Eggleston OK5K race will take place on the Virginia Wesleyan College campus on Saturday, June 8. This year's one mile run begins at 8 a.m., followed by the 5K start time of 8:45 a.m. The race will be followed by refreshments, raffle prizes and an awards ceremony. Proceeds from the race will benefit Eggleston Services and its mission of creating education, training and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
