Documentary Premiere: Winter Shelter, On Campus
7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
A premiere of the new documentary about Virginia Wesleyan's student-led, on-campus emergency winter homeless shelter will be held on Monday, October 6 from 7-9 p.m. in Blocker Auditorium. "Winter Shelter, On Campus" is 16-minute documentary film that captures the unique relationship between college students and the homeless, showcasing a long-standing college-community partnership with positive outcomes. The film pitches a sheltering model for other colleges and universities to consider. A large contingent from VWC's partner agency, Portsmouth Volunteers for the Homeless, is expected to be in attendance. Please come, view and mingle, enjoying traditional VWC Winter Shelter fare: popcorn and ice cream! This event is open to the public.
