Ninth Annual On-Campus Winter Homeless Shelter
Be part of something bigger than yourself by volunteering for the Ninth Annual On-Campus Winter Homeless Shelter, January 11-18. In partnership with Portsmouth Volunteers for the Homeless, VWC student, faculty and staff volunteers will band together to provide homeless men and women with hot meals, fun activities and a secure, warm place to sleep. Volunteers help prepare and serve evening meals, socialize, provide overnight security, make new friends, and learn first hand about the root causes of homelessness. Volunteer sign ups are now open in the Office of Community Service. Volunteer orientations will be held Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. OR Nov. 24 at 4:30 p.m. (Location TBD). For more information, contact Director of Community Service Diane Hotaling at 757.455.3216 or dhotaling@vwc.edu.» More
