Virginia Wesleyan College offers students an opportunity to study and practice on 4 Steinway grand pianos, 2 Kawaii grand pianos, and several studio models from various manufacturers. The instruments are housed in the Fine Arts building and in Monumental Chapel and are available at all times when not in use for private instruction.
Organ students have access to a Rodgers electronic organ (Allegiant 657) for on-campus instruction and practice. In addition, the college has arrangements with several nearby churches with pipe organs that are available for instruction and practice, by appointment.
The Edward D. Hofheimer Theatre is the college's main performance venue for musical and theatric events. It is fashioned in the "black-box" tradition, providing a wide array of staging arrangements. It seats approximately 140 and includes a 9-foot Steinway concert grand piano. It offers excellent acoustic properties for a wide range of performances from instrumental to vocal.
Monumental Chapel is a small campus chapel (seating for 80) which includes a 7-foot Kawaii concert grand piano, and boasts exceptional acoustical properties for the solo singer or choral ensemble.
Finale music writing programs are used on campus and are available on several computers in both the Fine Arts building and in the computer lab in Clarke Hall.
