Bio

Bartol received her doctoral degree from Virginia Institute of Marine Science, just up the road from VWC in Gloucester Point, Va. She has taught courses at UCLA and worked on postdoctoral research at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Woods Hole, Mass. Bartol's research has focused on sensory physiology of sea turtles and marine fishes. "I have always been fascinated with how marine organisms sense their surrounding environments and how they then use this information to make choices," she says. "I especially enjoy working with sea turtles, knowing that my research could be valuable in the conservation of an endangered species. I look forward to bringing my passion for marine biology to the students."
