Bio

Assistant Professor of Education/Reading Malcolm Lively completed his PhD in reading education at The University of Georgia under the guidance of Drs. Steven Stahl and David A. Hayes. Dr. Lively teaches all of the reading courses at VWC: EDUC 319--Content Area Reading EDUC 320--Teaching Reading/Language Arts EDUC 321--Diagnostic Teaching of Reading EDUC 344--Language Acquisition/Diagnostic Reading He is pursuing his research interests in electronic learning, comprehension interventions for reading disabled students, and comprehension models of text processing, and has made numerous presentations at regional and national conferences on these and other topics. Dr. Lively is an avid sports fan, and can often be seen running and biking around the campus and Hampton Roads, as well as attending Tides, Nighthawks, Admirals, and Marlins sporting events.
