NOTIFICATION FOR STUDENTS: WebAdvisor to replace MARSIS
As of July 1 students will no longer use the Marlin Student Information System (MARSIS) to access their student information. WebAdvisor will replace MARSIS.
WebAdvisor is a system similar to MARSIS which will allow students to view and print their course schedules, access their student records and academic history, change contact information and more. In addition, WebAdvisor will allow incoming freshmen students to register for fall 2008 courses. Current students should use their current MARSIS Login Name and Password to access WebAdvisor.
Faculty and staff will continue to use MARSIS to access student information, class rosters, budgets and any other programs that they currently have.
For questions or concerns regarding WebAdvisor or MARSIS, contact the Help Desk at 757.455.3111 or helpdesk@vwc.edu.
Microsoft Windows Vista Information
As with any new operating system, there are still some compatibility issues with Windows Vista. We are not as yet converting our VWC systems to Windows Vista. The majority of new computers purchased will come with Windows Vista pre installed. You will be able to connect to the VWC network for Internet access and access your network (H:) drive with Windows Vista. However, if you wish to have Windows XP as your operating system you can do so by purchasing a Dell computer that can be ordered on our recommend site. These computers come preloaded with Windows XP and our Symantec Antivirus.
Computer Accounts Password Information
Students, faculty and staff are assigned password protected computer
accounts while they are associated with Virginia Wesleyan College. These
passwords are account specific, give access to personal information and
should be safeguarded. For security purposes, the initially assigned passwords
must be changed. Click on the link provided below for detailed instructions.
