Placing materials on reserve at Hofheimer Library
- Bring materials to be placed on reserve to the Information Desk.
- Fill out reserve form at time of drop off and sign copyright release waiver.
- Information needed on form:
- Semester
- Instructor
- Department
- Course Name & Number
- Checkout period (3 hour, 24 hour, or 3 day)
- Submit requests at least 3 working days before assigning materials to students.
- Materials will remain on reserve for one semester only.
- Personal materials will be returned at the end of each semester by campus mail.
- Library assumes no responsibility for copyright or lost/damaged materials.

Copyright information
The reserve policy is based on the assumption that the Library’s reserve shelf functions as an extension of classroom readings and/or reflects a student’s rights under the Fair Use Doctrine (as prescribed for not-for-profit educational institutions in Section 107 of the Copyright Revision Act of 1976) and is intended to protect Virginia Wesleyan College and its faculty.
- Any circulating audiovisual material that has been purchased by the Library or an instructor may be placed on reserve.
- Reference books may not be placed on reserve.
- Only copies of audiovisual material with permission from the copyright owner will be placed on reserve.
- Any photocopied material on reserve must include a copy of the notice of copyright.
- Photocopied material may be used for only one semester without securing permission from the copyright owner.
- Any work in the public domain may be copied without restriction.
