Library of Congress (LC) call numbers are used by Hofheimer Library to indicate where on the shelves you will find a specific book or books on a specific topic. This system is used by most academic libraries. Full descriptions of the call number sytem can be found at the Library of Congress' web site.
The letters listed below identify what section in the library will have books on a certain subject. Actual call numbers will include both letters and numbers in a certain order; the full call number identifies a specific book. Use the library catalog to identify call numbers useful for your topic or ask a librarian for assistance.
