For Faculty

Requesting new books

Requests for new books can be sent to any of the librarians by e-mail or campus mail. Faculty will be notified when the books are received and ready to be checked out.

Faculty research

Please contact any of the librarians for assistance with your professional research. We will be happy to help you with identifying and obtaining the necessary materials.

Requesting class research instruction

  • Faculty are encouraged to contact a librarian prior to giving a research assignment to a class. Librarians will help to identify useful resources, plan a library instruction session (if requested), identify materials to place on reserve, and find useful and appropriate print and electronic resources for the assignment. Note: Advance notice of research assignments enables the entire library staff to be prepared to assist students.
  • Librarians will provide instruction covering general library use and/or library research for a specific subject area, course, or assignment.
  • Day or evening classes can be scheduled.
  • Library research classes need to be at least 30 minutes.
  • Instruction is most effective when students are working on a specific assignment and when faculty also attend the instruction session.
  • Contact Patty Clark x3221 to schedule a class.
