Instructors frequently place books, articles and audiovisual materials on reserve at the library; library reserves are in the temporary library located in Village II. Materials placed on reserve by instructors have a short checkout period so that the materials are available to all students in the class.

by instructor, course, or department. - Reserve materials are checked out at the Information Desk.
- A Virginia Wesleyan College ID is required.
- The course name and number is needed to request materials on reserve.
- A limit of 4 reserve items can be checked out at one time.
- Holds cannot be placed on reserve items.
- The checkout period varies: 3 hour, 24 hour, or 3 days, depending on the item.
- Overdue fines are 50 cents an hour.
- Some materials must remain in the library.
- Reserve materials cannot be renewed.
