Library Workshops

Workshops address information literacy needs of Virginia Wesleyan students in casual, interactive sessions with librarians. Workshops require no registration, though space is limited and attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis.

» Wikpedia and Academic Research: Wikipedia is a free, online, collaborative encyclopedia, written by volunteers around the world.  This workshop will discuss some of the best features of Wikipedia and some of the limitations.  By the end of the session, students should have a better understanding of how to use this information source in their research. (September 9, 2008 @ 4:30 in the library; September 18, 2008 @ 11am in Clarke 118).

Workshops support the Association of College Research Libraries’ Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education.
