Any items found in the library should be turned in at the library’s information desk by the front door. Lost and found items are turned over to the security office. - What should I do if I lose my VWC ID card?
Report the loss to the Information Desk, and your record can be blocked to prevent others from checking out books with your school ID. You will not be able to borrow books until you get a new school ID. New ID cards are available at the Security Office in Bray Village. - Where are the copiers located and how much does it cost to make copies?
- Does the library have a scanner?
The computer lab in Clarke building has 2 scanners for student use. - How do I find DVDs, videos, music?
Checking out and renewing books
- What are the library lending rules and policies?

Your VWC ID card serves as your library card. - How can I find what I have checked out?
- How do I renew my books?
- Can I borrow movies, camcorders or other audio visual resources/equipment from the library?
- Can I check out magazines, journals or newspapers?
Journals, magazines and newspapers cannot be checked out. Contact a librarian if an assignment requires you to have a physical copy of a journal, magazine or newspaper; accomodations can be made upon request. - What if a book that I want says it's available, but it's not on the shelf?
If a book or item is not on the shelf, ask a library staff person for assistance. The item could be in storage, mis-shelved or in processing. It may be possible to determine if a copy of the book is available at another library if you need it right away. - What does it mean when a book is located at CSRF?
CSRF stands for the Center for the Study of Religious Freedom. Books in this collection may be borrowed according to the policies at the Center. The Center for the Study of Religious Freedom is located on the first floor of Clarke Building and is open to the public. - Can I put a hold on a book that is already checked out to someone else?
Yes. Ask at the Information Desk. You will be notified when the book is returned so that you can pick it up at the library. The library staff can also find out if a copy of the book is available at another library if you need it right away. - Can I return books if the library is closed?
Yes. Books can be returned to Book Return box in front of Village II. - What happens if I lose a book and don’t return it?
When a book is more than 5 weeks overdue, the borrower is charged a replacement cost plus $10.00 per item processing fee and charges are sent to the business office.

No, you must have a public library card from the library system in order to check out materials. For further information on this topic, see links to other libraries and look at the borrowing policies for different libraries.

- How do I document my sources?
- How do I access the Library Catalog and electronic resources from off-campus?
Access to all library resources is available on and off campus using the student’s VWC e-mail and password. Access to netLibrary's electronic books is limited to users that have set up a netLibrary account on campus; once an account has been set up on campus, electronic book access is available through the internet on any computer.
