Faculty
Adjunct Reading Professor
Adjunct (part-time) position available for individual with Master’s Degree in Reading, with Virginia endorsement as a reading specialist. Ph.D., or Ed.D in reading preferred. Experience teaching at a college level or in a public school setting required; must have experience working with struggling readers and/or students with reading disabilities. Must be available to teach evening or weekend courses as required each semester. Successful candidate’s experience will include:
Appropriate background in the psychology of learning, including strong experience in both behaviorism and cognitive learning theories;
Understanding of the endorsement competencies in reading as described in the Virginia Licensure Regulations for School Personnel;
Literacy aspects and outcomes of the basic reading methods course;
The ability to use formal and informal assessments to diagnose needs, plan and modify instruction, and record student progress;
The skill to use technology as a tool for teaching, learning, research, and communication; and
The ability to guide students in their use of technology for both process and product as they work with reading, writing, and research.

Assistant Professor of Clinical or Community Psychology

Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice

Education Tenure-track Faculty Position

Full time evening (3:00 – 11:00) position requiring high school diploma or equivalent. Must have current DCJS Certification. Prior college, hospital, hotel, or military security experience required. Retired military a plus. Must have experience in all aspects of patrol, traffic, investigations, public relations, and report writing. Applicant should also have experience in bicycle maintenance. Technology Technician
Virginia Wesleyan College has a full-time Entry Level Computer Technician position for an individual with a minimum of an associate’s degree in Computer Technology, Computer Electronics Technology, or equivalent related experience. Experience with the Windows and MAC operating systems is required. The ideal candidate will be able to answer questions, troubleshoot problems, and execute appropriate corrective action in person and/or via phone on all college supported applications, including technology and equipment. This position requires the ability to work independently, initiate effective solutions, and maintain Dell DCSE yearly certification. A current Valid Virginia driver’s license and the ability to lift a maximum of 60 lbs from the floor to desktop are required. Successful candidate will be a team player who has outstanding communication and documentation skills, strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude for learning technical information quickly.
