“I am incredibly grateful to study at Virginia Wesleyan, where the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean provide so many opportunities for hands-on research. In the coming year, I’m looking forward to beginning my undergraduate research work with Dr. Soraya Bartol. Dr. Bartol has become a mentor for me, and her enthusiasm and vast knowledge of marine biology are completely contagious. VWC has definitely provided that experience for me. I am confident that on graduation day, I will be more than prepared to follow my dreams of pursuing graduate studies at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science.”

A junior with a double major in political science and mathematics, balances a busy academic schedule. After working as an intern at the law office of Kaufman & Canoles, Bond aspires to attend law school after graduation with the goal of becoming a tax attorney. Although his grades and admirable work ethic made him appealing to many other private institutions, Steven chose Virginia Wesleyan thanks in large part to annual scholarships provided by your gifts to the Annual Fund.

“As a Business major, VWC offered me great opportunities outside of my regular coursework. I participated in a brief internship with GEICO and spent a semester studying International Economics in Prague. After graduation, I plan to pursue law school with the hopes of eventually moving overseas for a career in International Law.” In the fall of 2014, Aaron will begin his studies at Berkeley Law School in California.
