Going to College with the Adult Studies Program
Are you an adult looking for a career change, or do you know someone who is? Take the time this summer to visit Virginia Wesleyan at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 10 in Clarke Hall for an informational session specifically for adults. This session will cover topics such as degree programs offered, tips for success, support available for non-traditional students, credit transfers, guaranteed admission for Virginia community college students, employer tuition deferral programs, financial aid options and how to enroll. Patty Ritzi-Teed '92 is the owner and president of Premier Events, Inc. located in Virginia Beach, Va. Premier Events is a special event production company providing staff and decor for all types of special events ranging from weddings to corporate events. The company's repertoire includes casino nights, inflatable amusements, murals and props, linens and fresh floral designs - a one stop for event planning. Patty is an Adult Studies Program graduate with a degree in the Liberal Arts Management Program. Premier Events, Inc. was featured on the January 29 episode of MTV's "My Super Sweet 16." |

2008 Reunion is right around the corner!
The classes of 1983 and 1998 will be celebrating their 25 and 10 year reunions, respectively at Homecoming & Family Weekend 2008. Mark your calendars for Saturday, Oct. 4! Angela (Ward) Costello (1987) writes, "The International Academy of Visual Arts has awarded Angela Costello and the Storyteller Cafe series with its highest honor in three categories: "children's Audience", "Use of animation" and "Use of music." Angela Costello and CBN Animation have now been honored with more than 45 national awards in the last 14 years."
Mary Luton (1987) and John Travers are proud to announce the birth of a baby girl, Michelle Chantal. She was born on October 1, 2007 in Charleston, S.C., and weighed 9 lb., 2 oz.
Brian Kirwin (1991) writes, "Brian Kirwin '91 was appointed to the Virginia Beach Arts and Humanities Commission recently by the Virginia Beach City Council."
Cassandra Matthews (2004) writes, "In August 2008, I will graduate from Old Dominion University with a Master's degree in Sociology concentrating in Criminal Justice. Also, in the Fall, I will continue my education at Old Dominion in the Ph.D. program in Criminology."
Kelli Davis (2005) was recently promoted to Marketing and Promotions Specialist at More Music Group, a booking agency for local and national concerts and entertainment, located in Virginia Beach, Va.
