- Thanks to the 2,063 alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, churches, corporations and foundations that supported the Annual Fund for Academic Excellence during the 2006-07 year, the goal of $1,365,408 was achieved for the fourth consecutive year. Gifts to the Annual Fund support scholarships, technology upgrades and additions, undergraduate research, faculty recruitment and development and critical needs as they arise on campus. View the honor roll of donors or make a gift to support the 2007-08 Annual Fund.
Sports Briefs

- High honors across the Board in 2007: 54 athletes named to All-ODAC teams, 32 athletes were named to All-Virginia teams, nine athletes were named to All-Region teams, three athletes were named All-Americans, and two Marlins were named Virginia Rookie of the Year for 2007.

Featured Alumnus: Brian Kirwin '91

Brian Kirwin '91 is director of media relations for Rourk Public Relations, based in Virginia Beach, Va. He is also a political consultant who has lent his expertise to more than 18 state and local campaigns. Brian previously worked for the Muscular Dystrophy Association where he helped promote special events in Hampton Roads that raised more than $1 million annually for three consecutive years. In his free time, Brian enjoys acting and has appeared in a dozen plays throughout Hampton Roads.
