Marriages and Births

  • Jennifer (Ernwein) Vesta '95 and her husband, Eric M. Vesta, welcomed their first child, daughter

    Charlotte May Vesta on March 8 (pictured). The couple married on May 13, 2005, and they reside in Dumont, N.J.
  • Stephanie Hinson '04 and Josh Fisher '02 were married on Saturday, April 21 at the bride's parents' home in Tappahannock, Va. Other Virginia Wesleyan alumni participating in the wedding were Gwen Bevans '00, Joleen Berardi '01 and Corrine Rhine '01 as bridesmaids; Bill Gobble '03 and James Wallace '03 as groomsmen; and Renee Duval '00 as the guest book attendant. The couple resides in Virginia Beach, Va.
  • Kaitlun (DeGree) Peterson '04 married Kelsey Peterson on March 10, 2007. The couple resides in San Diego, Calif., where Kaitlun teaches first grade.

Personal Updates

  • Gil McMillan '76 is the Director of Advancement, Mid South Region for Prison Fellowship. He resides in Virginia Beach, Va.
  • Victoria Espina-Basilio '83 opened a new boutique called "Fivi" in the old city section of Philadelphia, Pa. The store carries an assortment of bags, costume jewelry and fresh-water pearls.
  • Charlotte Holtry '83 is an administrator for the PADD Wren House in Florence, S.C.
  • Linda Harris '87 is the College-Wide Coordinator of Disability Services at Tidewater Community College. She resides in Chesapeake, Va.
  • Rev. Scott M. Rimer '89 has been elected President of the National Alumni Council for Duke University Divinity School. Scott serves as Pastor of Larchmont United Methodist Church in Norfolk, Va.
  • Richard Stuart '89 is a lawyer in Westmoreland County. He recently won the Republican nomination for the 28th District state Senate seat. Trisha King Lewis '86 is his legal assistant.
  • Stephanie (Doyle) Brady '97 is the Assistant Director of the Annual Fund at Saint Joseph's College in Standish, Maine. She resides in Scarborough, Maine with her husband, Jim, and two children daughter Ciara, 4, and son Finn, 3.
  • Sara Gastler '97 graduated this May with a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from The College of William & Mary. She is the Director of Admissions for Virginia Wesleyan College.
  • Mark Holderman '98 is engaged to Jennifer Page Whelan. A summer 2007 wedding is planned. He currently lives in Chesapeake, Va.
  • Josh Fisher '02 is employed by the City of Chesapeake Parks and Recreation Department. He resides in Virginia Beach, Va.
  • Lindsey Eaves '03 completed two years in the Peace Corps, working as a Community Health Educator in Peru. She is now the Video Production Coordinator for Knowlera Media, a company creating a Web site for how-to videos. She resides in Woodbridge, Va., and is engaged to Jorge Carrasco. A 2008 wedding is planned.
  • John Tomasheski '03 recently graduated from The University of North Carolina School of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). He will now complete a one year general practice residency at UNC Hospitals.
  • Stephanie (Hinson) Fisher '04 opened a children's boutique, Busy Bee's, in Virginia Beach over Memorial Day weekend with a business partner. She resides in Virginia Beach, Va.
  • Jonathan Anderson '05 is the Executive Director of the Urban Land Preservation Fund of America. He resides in Rockville, Md.
  • Mark Hackett '05 is the Men's Assistant Soccer Coach at Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill. He is pursing a NSCAA and National Coach's Diploma and a master's degree in coaching and sports management.
  • Jon Karpenske '06 is the Adviser for the Southern Virginia area of the Urban Land Preservation Fund of America.
