One of the Center’s hallmark programs is the NEXUS Interfaith Dialogue Series, co-sponsored by the Center, The National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ), The Virginian-Pilot, and Cox Communications. The word “nexus” means “a point of connection,” and this is just what NEXUS is about: connecting people of all faiths through dialogue. Founded in 1999 by Virginian-Pilot religion columnist Betsy Wright Rhodes and Dr. Michael Panitz, Rabbi of Temple Israel in Norfolk, the goal of the NEXUS forum is open and respectful dialogue about our faiths, our differences as well as things we share in common.
