Center for Sacred Music
The Center for Sacred Music at Virginia Wesleyan College educates students for careers in church music ministry and offers continuing education and specialized training opportunities for those already active in the profession. In addition, it hosts massed-choir festivals, presents a nationally recognized annual Sacred Music Summer Conference each July, a regional hymn festival each October, and through seminars and guest speakers, explores the worship music and ritual of various world religions.

Church Music CertificateThe CSM Church Music Certificate prepares students for service in church music ministry and offers instruction to enhance the skills of those already active in the profession. (available for both academic credit and continuing education units)
Sound and Symbol
The Center's annual lecture series, Sound and Symbol, offers programs and illustrated lectures designed to foster understanding and encourage an appreciation and deeper understanding of the diversity found in the world's faith traditions and today's worship styles.
The Wesleyan Festival Chorus is a massed choir that offers choral musicians the opportunity to sing with the finest conductors in the world in concert and for worship leadership.
Sacred Music Summer Conference
Steeped in the Wesley tradition of training minds and warming hearts, the CSM offers a week-long conference featuring more than 40 workshop sessions led by 16 of the nation's leading scholars and practicioners in the church music field. Sessions are offered in choral conducting, children's choirs, vocal technique, organ, piano, handbells, worship design, and more. Evening events include worship, a hymn festival, and a choral concert featuring the 90-voice Wesleyan Festival Chorus.
