All Stafford borrowers are also required to complete exit counseling when ANY of the following occurs:
- You graduate;
- You transfer to a different school;
- You drop below half time enrollment; or
- You withdraw completely from school.
IMPORTANT! You will not be able to participate in commencements NOR will any academic transcripts be released until you complete the exit counseling.
You will need the following information to complete the Stafford exit counseling online:
- Your Social Security and driver's license numbers;
- Name, address and phone numbers of your closest relatives;
- Name, address and phone numbers for two references at different addresses (so your lenders can contact the references if they lose touch with you);
- Name, address and phone numbers of your expected employer (you may enter "unknown" if you don't have one yet);
- Your loan information, including who your lender(s) and guarantor(s) are, and how much you borrowed. If you do not know who your guarantor or lender is, you can find your loan information on the National Student Loan Clearinghouse, which can be accessed through MARSIS.
