All Perkins borrowers are also required to complete exit counseling when ANY of the following occurs:
- You graduate;
- You transfer to a different school;
- You drop below half time enrollment; or
- You withdraw completely from school.
IMPORTANT! You will not be able to participate in commencements NOR will any academic transcripts be released until you complete the exit counseling.
Perkins Loan exit counseling is a two-part process. The first part must
be completed online and the second part is comprised of an
individualized packet that contains additional information regarding your
loan as well as forms that must be signed and returned to
the collections and loan compliance coordinator once they
are completed. In most cases, the packet will not be generated
until the online portion is completed. Completion of BOTH
parts is required.
You will need the following information to complete the online
portion of the Perkins Loan counseling:
- Your Social Security and driver's license numbers;
- Name, address and phone numbers of your closest relatives;
- Name, address and phone numbers for two references at different addresses (so that we can contact the references if we lose touch with you); and
- Name, address and phone numbers of your expected employer (you may enter "unknown" if you don't have one yet).
