Major Requirements
The Business major has three general components:
- A tightly structured core of courses from management, business, and economics (MBE)
- A more flexible collection of allied courses from other disciplines
- A senior synthesis (internship or additional upper-level courses in an area of career interest, capped by a senior seminar or research project.)
Business core (36 semester hours)
- Introduction to Business (recommended)

- Managerial Ethics
Allied group (8 semester hours)
- Statistics (Required)
- Environment (Required)
- Sociology (Recommended)
- Psychology (Recommended)
- Organizations (Recommended)
- Oral Communications (Recommended)
Senior synthesis (12-20 semester hours)
Option A Course concentration (12 semester hours)
- Two 300/400 level courses related to a career interest (at least one in Business).
- A "capstone" senior seminar or research course (either MBE 406, 407 or 491).
Option B: Internship (20 semester hours)
- Internship Exploration and Design (Fall)
- Full-time internship (Spring)
- Internship Seminar (Spring)
