I am thrilled that you are interested in Virginia Wesleyan College and our field hockey program. This page has been set up for you to get a better understanding of our program's Coaching Philosophy and Team Expectations. I also hope you will find the Guidelines for Prospective Student-Athletes helpful as you continue the process of becoming a Marlin!
I am proud to say that our 2009 season was one that helped our young squad grow in many ways. We welcomed 11 new members to the squad! We played the same demanding schedule as we did in 2008 and we showed marked improvement. We scored more goals, took more shots, gave up less corners, we earned more corners, and we grew in experience and maturity on and off the field. Our efforts are now starting to recieve recognition as 3 players, 1 freshmen and 2 sophomores, were honored with post season ODAC All-Confernce honors, one of whom was the ODAC Rookie of the Year. We are growing strong!

I annually attend the National Hockey Festival in Indio, California over Thanksgiving break. I am also a Futures site head coach, so I am at the VA Regional Futures Tournament, the NFC, and many events sponsored by USA Field Hockey. I also make my way up and down the east coast for several showcases, tournaments and events during the winter/spring/summer. During the summers I coach camps at Appalachian State, and Old Dominion University. My Recruiting Calendar is available to you on this site, and is periodically updated as the dates for events become available. An alternative way for me to evaluate your play is to send a DVD or an online link to some of your footage. I hope to see you around the hockey scene!
