2008 Marlin Volleyball Camp
- Camp dates: June 16-19 (CAMP IS FULL)
This camp provides the opportunity for players from beginning to advanced skill-levels to improve in the sport of volleyball. Each day will focus on individual skills and team concepts. In addition, time will be set aside each day for game play. Fun and learning are the goals emphasized at our camp.
Ages: Girls, ages 12-18
Time: 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Location: Jane P. Batten Center Gymnasium
Cost: $250

Camp Coaching Staff

Andrea Hoover, Camp Director
- Completed her second year at VWC in 2007, compiling a 17-15 record - one of the best regular season finishes in the program's history.
- Four-year letterwinner in volleyball at Slippery Rock, which competes as a Division II member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)
- Listed among the Rock's all-time leaders in career aces (104) and digs (1194); played in 424 games for teams that compiled a 76-58 record
- Former assistant volleyball coach at Marietta College for two seasons
- Former head coach at Northern High School in Owings, Md., guiding the 2002 and 2003 teams to the Maryland regional's; also served as an assistant at Northern in 2000 and 2001, helping lead the teams to back-to-back Maryland state championships
- Has been a head coach on the club level with the Southern Maryland Juniors Volleyball 18-Under team
- Received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Healthy and Physical Education, with a minor in Adapted Physical Activity and Rehabilitation from Slippery Rock University in December 1999
- Adjunct Instructor for the past two years at Ohio's Marietta College, teaching Theory and Practice of Elementary Physical Activity and Health and Wellness for the College Student
Virginia Wesleyan assistant coaches, players from other colleges and VWC players work as camp staffers. A certified athletic trainer will also be on staff.
