Girls' Lacrosse

2008 Marlin School for Girls' Lacrosse

  • July 7-July 11

The Marlin School for Girls' Lacrosse is designed for both beginners and advanced players. The girls will be divided into groups by age so that each player can play with others of her same age and ability level. Each day will focus on individual skills and team concepts. In addition, time will be set aside each day for scrimmages and games. Fun and learning will be a major focus of this camp.

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Cost: $250 ($100 non refundable deposit – lunch is included)

  • Fourth season as VWC's head women's lacrosse coach in 2008-09
  • Four-year assistant woman's lacrosse coach and defensive coordinator at Division I St. Bonaventure, working for two-time Atlantic-10 Coach of the Year Tony Zostant
  • Helped to guide St. Bonaventure to its first three winning seasons in program history and to the A-10 championship berths in 2003 and 2004
  • Four-year member of the Syracuse University women's lacrosse team, which compiled a 44-19 record in those four years, including NCAA tournament appearances in 2000, 2001, and 2002, and a first place finish in the ECAC tournament in 1999
  • Two-year team captain at Syracuse
  • 2002 recipient of the Verhulst Award for Courage
  • 2002 graduate of Syracuse University with a BA in Psychology; minored in Sociology
  • Earned her MSEd in Counselor Education -- Agency Track from St. Bonaventure University in 2005
  • Girls camp director and lacrosse coach of Tribe Lacrosse in Bel Air, Md. for three years

Virginia Wesleyan assistant coaches and college players work as camp staffers. A certified athletic trainer will also be on staff.
