About Blue Marlin Basketball Camp
Blue Marlin Basketball Camp is designed to provide exclusive one-on-one
instruction from top college coaches and players while having fun and learning
the basic fundamental skills and team concepts of competitive basketball.
Our goal is to make you a better player. We want you to improve your skill
level and achieve success.
Camp is held on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan College in
the $18.6 million Jane P. Batten Student Center. All campers will receive
a camp T-shirt on the last day of camp.
Ages: 6-17
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.
to 3 p.m. Friday
Cost: $200 per participant ($75 non-refundable deposit sent along with registration form)
Meals: Campers should bring their own lunches OR may purchase
pizza from the concession stand

Blue Marlin Basketball Camp Coaching Staff
David Macedo, Camp Director

- Led the Marlins to the NCAA national championship games in 2006 and 2007, winning the title the first year and taking the runner-up finish the second year
- NCAA appearances in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008
- Eight-year record of 175-57 (75%) winning percentage and five straight 20-win seasons
- Led the Marlins to a school-record 30-3 season and a 28-game winning streak in 2006
- Earned National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), D3hoops.com and DIII News National Coach of the Year honors
- Coached Brandon Adair, 2005-2006 NABC National Player of the Year
- Back-to-back Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) championships in 2005 and 2006
- 2006 ODAC and South Region Coach of the Year
- 2005, 2006 and 2007 Virginia Sports Information Directors College Coach of the Year
- A four-year starting point guard for Wilkes, helping guide the Colonels to an 89-22 record while winning two league championships and advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight rounds in 1995 and 1996
- Two-year assistant at Wilkes University going 46-11, two NCAA berths and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Final Four
- Received bachelor's degree and Master of Science degree in Education from Wilkes University
- Inducted into the Somerset Athletic Hall of Fame in Somerset, Mass. in 2002
Troy Walton, Assistant Coach
- Fourth season at Virginia Wesleyan in 2007-08
- Coached the Bayside High School boys' basketball team for four seasons before returning to Virginia Wesleyan
- 1999 graduate of Virginia Wesleyan College, where he played basketball from 1996 through 1999
- Transferred to Virginia Wesleyan from Teikyo Post University, a Division-II program, where he was a scholarship player
- Also served as an assistant boys' basketball coach at Norfolk Collegiate School for one season
- Has one son, Drew
Brad Dunleavy, Assistant Coach

- Fourth season at Virginia Wesleyan College
- 2001 graduate of Roanoke College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance
- Received his Master of Arts, Liberal Studies, from Hollins University in 2003
- Four-year letterman in basketball at Roanoke, earning Street & Smith Honorable Mention All-America honors as a senior
- Helped to guide Roanoke to NCAA Tournament second round appearances in 2000 and 2001
- Selected as the ODAC Tournament Most Valuable Player in 2000
- Played professional basketball in the American Basketball Association with the Southern California Surf for one season
A certified athletic trainer will also be on staff.
