Class of 1983 25-Year Reunion

The Class of 1998 is planning a 25-year reunion during the traditional Homecoming Tailgate party on Saturday, October 4, 2008.

The tailgate begins at 12 p.m. and continues until 4:30 p.m. Come and enjoy picnic food, beverages and good times with friends while watching the Marlin men’s soccer team (game begins at 2 p.m.). The Class of 1983 will have a designated area to mingle under the main tent.

Class pictures will be taken at 1:00 p.m., don't miss it!

TICKETS MAY BE PURCHASED AT THE GATE (Adults $9, Students and Children $5, and VWC students and children 5 years and younger are free).

  • Carol (Scotece) Armstrong-Minton (1983) is the owner of Just For Baby Gifts & Gifts by Caroline.   • Betty Spencer-Chapman (1983) has one daughter, Simone Victoria Chapman, 3.5 years old, and has been married to Steve M. Chapman for twelve years. Her mother Evelyn Mooore Spencer continues to reside in Virginia Beach along with her two brothers Linwood and Tim Spencer. Her sister Cynthia lives in Jackson, NJ and her sister Sharon resides in Lorton, VA near me. She received her MA degree from Hampton Univ. in 1985 and her doctoral degree from George Mason University in May of 2008. Her dissertation was "An Examiniation of Changes in Teachers" Attitudes, Teaching Practice, and Perceptions Toward Student Achievement As A Result of Professional Development in Arts Integration". She continues to as the assistant principal at Kenmore Middle School in Arlington, Viriginia. She has been at Kenmore for 12 wonderful years.
  • Vanessa Thaxton-Ward (1983) is married to Richard Ward and has two children, Heru (10) and Mettima (7) and works at the Hampton University Museum. Between working on her dissertation, supporting her husband's career as an Artist and Educator, Vanessa enjoys raising her children- they bring a new challenge and joy everyday. Vanessa received her MA in Museum Studies and is a Ph.D Candidate for American Studies with a specialization in African American Material Culture.
  • Michele Yardumian (1983) co-wrote The Alliance: Book One of the Faeltheon the first book of the quartet that introduces readers to the Faeltheon, a race of Elves and Faeries. This is a fantasy novel and is available at Amazon.com or your local bookseller. www.faeltheon.com
