Kevin Lee Clary '84
Kevin Lee Clary, 46, died unexpectedly at his home,
Friday, Oct. 10, 2008. Kevin was
a Virginia Wesleyan alumnus and former employee of
the College, serving as the director of alumni relations for nine
years and prior to that position as an admissions counselor. He was
formerly with the Graduate Studies Department at Chowan College, a sales associate with Becky's Hallmark and currently
associate manager of Coach in Williamsburg. He was a volunteer with
the Peninsula Republican Party. A lifelong member of Trinity United
Methodist Church, Kevin was active in the Virginia Conference of the
United Methodist Church and on the Peninsula District. He served as
youth director with Fox Hill United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his parents, William E. "Bill" and Elsie Hubbard
Clary; brother, Bill Clary and his wife Betsie; nieces and nephew,
Emily, Patrick and Caroline Clary; and aunt, Marian and her husband
George Ashby.
A service was conducted Tuesday, October 14 at Trinity
United Methodist Church.
Kevin will be remembered fondly by his fellow alumni, faculty, staff and the rest of the Virginia Wesleyan community. Because of Kevin's contributions to Virginia Wesleyan, Alumni, Parents and Friends may support the Kevin L. Clary Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship will benefit Virginia Wesleyan students. Friends may make a contribution to Kevin L. Clary Endowed Scholarship, Virginia Wesleyan College, 1584 Wesleyan Drive, Norfolk, VA 23502. Gifts will be matched by the Frank E. Brown Challenge.
